How do you read ? Do you speed read ?

Reading is so important and we need it every single day.
I've been reading and watching some interesting videos about speed reading.

Here is what I've found that most articles suggest that you should
  • avoid sub-vocalization
  • use your finger/pen/pencil to direct our eyes
  • try to see multiple words at a time
  • try to work on speed, comprehension, and retaining separately (even though the comprehension will be low in the beginning)
  • reduce distractions as much as possible
What do you think ? Do you have any good tips ?

Firefox Addon
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/reasy/

Note: it seems it works until Firefox 3.7 however this is *easily* fixable.
If you see "Not available for Firefox 1.2.3" where 1.2.3 is your current Firefox version then you'll need to do some tweaks.

In order to make the addon work in Firefox 3.7+ => Download the addon.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/7928/addon-7928-latest.xpi (right click Save Link As")
Then open the XPI file using WinRAR/WinZIP/7zip and edit install.rdf. Make em:maxVersion="5" (For Firefox 5 just in case) and then put the updated file back into the XPI file. Then open the XPI file with Firefox and install it as you normally would.
